Application of submerged fermentation system (30l + 100l + 800 liter bioreactors) for the pilot-scale remediation of hydrocarbon-contaminated soils

The application of this fermentation system is remedination of soil, contaminated with oil over a long period. In this system has been cultivated bacteria consortium, which has been isolated from diesel-contamined soil. Fermentation system consists of 30 l, 100 l and 800 liter bioreactors. Another 800 liter reactor is used for storage of substrate. In every bioreactor is temperature, pH, pO2, foam and level control, as well automatical substrate feeding according adjusted time depended profiles. The sterilisation possibility of all fermentation system including pipelines is ensured. The bioreactors are equiped with magnetic drive.
